As Sandy's house turns......
October 10, 2007This morning the foreman comes by with the dry wall guys, rings bell as I requested. I asked him if heard what happened yesterday, he said no , so I told him the story. He said to let them take the scraps it's not a big deal. I'm thinking well that's pretty much what I planned but the point is they came from my backyard. Then he starts talking to the dry wall guys.
Ten minutes later, I don't hear anything. I look out the window and both the drywallers van is gone and the foremans car. My DOORS ARE WIDE OPEN! Not only the back door but the front door that's by the dumpster. There are squirrels in the dumpster and I could totally see one getting in the house. I figure they are coming back, but I"m not leaving the doors open , so I close them.
20 minutes or so later I see the drywallers come back. I'm waiting for them to open the door and about five minutes later, the door opens real slow and i see eyes and a nose "Ma'am may we come in?" LOL These guys are probably scared of me after hearing the story! LOL They were really nice though and this had nothing to do with them.
An hour later the foreman comes back. I say to him "Louie, if you leave, you need to close the doors, plus the squirrles are right out there". He says to me "Oh no squirrels come in your house, you worry too much!"
I was so mad at that point, so instead of completely showing him my Polish temper, I walked outside down the driveway to take some deep breaths. Serenity now serenity now.
Well whattaya know the foremans brand new mercedes bens is parked in my driveway, next to the dumpster (can you see where I'm going with this yet?). I took a second to think, and why yes, I opened his car door and came back in the house. LOL I didn't say anything to him, just came in like normal. He never said anything about it LOL. I was all ready to say "Well gee Louie, dont' worry the squirrels won't go in your car, you worry too much!" But I didn't get that pleasure.
All day the drywallers were here, very nice guys, closed the doors each time they went out to the truck. Alas, someone with common sense!
Around 2:00 the foreman came back and he cleaned, and cleaned, and cleaned and cleaned. I mean he CLEANED! The entire hallway was swept and vac'd where they did the drywall, they cleaned the garage area where they were working, the entire addition is almost spotless, and all outside was clean. After about two hours , maybe even more, he yelled out that he was leaving. I asked him to please let me know when they will be sanding so I can close off part of the house. HE says "Yes, maam". I about fell over. He then closed all the doors when leaving.
Am I dreaming or something or what? It was like a complete change of personality. I don't know what happened. I actually had nothing to complain about LOL There's got to be a catch. Maybe the inspector wants a clean job site? Maybe that is part of the clean up that's on the contract? Or maybe he saw his car door open and finally realized I was not a happy person. I don't know but that has floored me.
That felt so good to leave that door open like that! funny how the tune changes when the tables are turned.
I'm not getting too happy about anything just yet though. still work to do but at least we made some progress today. I just need this DONE before I really go off on someone LOL
BTW, I wanted to say that when I went outside with the shotgun yesterday, I did not point it at anyone or shoot it. I wouldn't shoot someone over things anyway. I have been trained and I know all the safety rules and precautions. I just don't want anyone thinking I'm some nut case running outside shooting in the air LOL because that's not how excersise my right to own a gun. I did everything correctly and the guys scattered. sure was funny though!
Last night watching the episode with Criss and the kids really made my day. I love that episode so much. I love kids, I love Criss, and seeing how good he is with them just warms my heart. I think that's my favorite episode.
Well it is cold today and all the windows are open to clear out some of this dust. I'm going to lay down for a bit as my sinus's are bugging me. Next week is the ultrasound, let's hope this little mindfreak is cooperative AND I get my 3D picture!! NOt to mention, lets hope she stays put for awhile. These contraction things are freaking me out, she can not come yet. No mindfreaks for mommy. :)
You all have a wonderful night! Sandy and baby girl
